"The Party Program is the Nation's Program!", "We stood on the brink of a precipice, but we took a step forward," and "Glory to the People of Good Work"—these are slogans that we clearly associate with the communist era. A period that many today remember with fondness, while younger generations look back on this period in our country's history with curiosity. This time, the Miracle Worker reached the Bieszczady Mountains, where we traveled to the charming town of Arłamów for the last Congress of the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR)... That's right—it was a themed event (and more) in the communist era.
Field game
The fun began long before evening, right after the group arrived. The introductory field game included a Labor Champions competition in building a socialist homeland and a training session in Defense Training. Our participants also tackled a series of puzzles in the Escape Room! And you must know, Comrades, that this was no ordinary escape room... The incredible atmosphere was enhanced by the fact that we created it in the apartment where the legendary "Solidarity" activist Lech Wałęsa, who was interned in the 80s, was kept!
And all this in the company of the ubiquitous Silent Unseen…
A themed party in the style of the Polish People's Republic
During the evening party, we cheered on the so-called "bricklayer trios," whose task was to build the largest brick wall possible in the time allowed! A competition inspired by a communist-era milk bar was a big hit, with our companions enjoying delicious jelly made from plates chained to the countertop with spoons.
One of the attractions of the evening was also a quiz, during which our Comrades wondered, among other things, what the "Invisible Hand" was, who said the famous words: "Will you help?", and which city in Poland was called "Stalinogrod" for several years and which gained the name "Little Moscow"...
Among the prizes for winning the competitions, our Work Champions received extremely desirable and sought-after prizes, such as carnations or… stockings 😉
